MFA Update

Got a rejection notice by email from UCSD. Knew I wasn't going to get in after that interview.

Where I'm at:

Brown (Waiting on Admission Decision)
CalArts (Waiting on Admission Decision)
Sarah Lawrence (Waiting on Admission Decision)


So far I have been rejected from:

Yale
University of Washington
UCSD

[I didn't make the second round of auditions at Brown, so I'm either on the wait-listed or I've been rejected.]

So it's all down to CalArts or Sarah Lawrence. :/

Keep your chin up Gina. If only you were a black lesbian. Than you could totally play that card.

Its like how I feel about CJ not getting into UCSC (though he is quite subversive). If only he were black, but with exactly the same circumstances growing up. Why, then he'd be a model minority and excellent teacher material. I always felt his essays had far more clarity of point and defined support in them.

You can bet your ass I played that card in my essays like a old white man buys young Thai boys when in Thailand.

I miss you guys. Am looking forward to seeing you in April when I start moving stuff up. Good luck with the other admissions.

The Yale guy totally thought I was asian. He actually kept pushing the point until I told him three times that I wasn't.

Maybe I should have lied ;)

I'm okay, though. But I still haven't heard from CalArts yet, so who knows what I'll be like if I don't get in there.
