I sent UCSD the following email last night after completing my Brown Application, and got the following one in return.
( Emails I sent to clarify )
I'm sending the rest of my app in anyway. Apparently they fudge the deadlines a lot of the time for qualified applicants. It doesn't do anything good for my chances, though. Thank god I got started early, or I would be so screwed right now.

8 AM
Got up for a production meeting 1 1/2 hours away but which was scheduled for 11:00 (because it was raining and we all know how people drive in the rain). I also was able to get gas and Starbucks.
10:45 AM
Met Stage Manager in rehearsal room so she could show me the way to the main offices.
10:50 AM
Stood outside looking silly for a few moments while Stage Manager ran back inside to get something. A schoolmate (who now works at the same company I do) kindly offered me a ride over to the offices after they dropped something off. I accepted, then called out "Nevermind!" and ditched ride because Stage Manager came back outside.
11:00 AM
Got to offices and realized Ride might not have heard "Nevermind." Called them on the phone and apologized.
11:05 AM - 1:00 PM
Production meeting.
1:00 - 2:00 PM
Lunch break. Ate sandwich from Starbucks.
2:00 - 6:00 PM
Rehearsal (Table Reading)
6:00 - 6:45 PM
Frantically drove to a 6:30 call at show I'm running projections for, a half hour away. Notice I was late. I'm also missing the evening rehearsal.
6:45 - 7:00 PM
Did half hour's worth of prep in 15 minutes. Luckily my awesome ASM booted up all the computers for me, or I never would have made it.
Curtain up at 7:30.
X_X
This is my dead face. See? I still have to drive home after the show, but at least it's a slightly earlier curtain.
God, I can't wait for this week to be over.

Rain does not mean that the double yellow line has suddenly disappeared and you can right into the left turn lane while the yellow is still happening.
Seriously, people. Learn how to drive in the rain. I almost got killed four times today.

WHY IS THERE NO PIZZA PLACE IN THE COUNTY THAT DELIVERS TO MY HOUSE???!?!?!?
My Dad's in the hospital for another day because they couldn't find anybody to do the surgery today. Everyone was booked up.
Sucks.
At least nothing worse happened, though. Thanks for the encouragement, everybody.

The surgery went well - they removed his gall bladder (he was sad they wouldn't let him keep it), but apparently some of the stones had worked their way into his bile ducts, and they couldn't get them laproscopically. So now they're going to have to stick a tube down his throat to get the other ones. That's another surgery that's happening tomorrow, so he's staying in the hospital another night. I went and visited - he's hopped up on morphine, but seemed okay. They put a drain in his side so that they wouldn't have to change bandages all the time. Icky.
I'll let you guys know how he's doing when I hear about it later.

My dad's been having stomach pain because of gallstones a lot lately and he made an appointment with his doctor, but then he had a really bad attack yesterday morning and had to go to the ER. They're operating on him today. It makes me nervous, but apparently they're doing laproscopic surgery so they won't be totally opening him up. Still, the last time someone I knew went in for a routine surgery...
Ugh. I don't want to think about it.
Totally wiped cause I didn't sleep well last night at all - had really freaky dreams probably due to the worrying. I need to try and relax today so I don't get sick. I've been sneezing a lot lately.

Soooo yeah. Great start to my internship.
The meeting that I wrote down in my planner for 3:00 (which was what it said on the calendar) apparently started at 1 instead. I'm not the only one that did this, though, so that's a bit of a relief, and the woman in the office said that since I went to school here I really didn't miss all that much.
I did want to meet the other interns, though. :( Sadness.

I just got back from two days of rehearsals in Berkeley. There was a lot going on, and I'm wiped.
Also I missed classes that I really didn't want to miss.
I just paid $900 in bills for this month, and I don't even pay rent.
Whine, whine whine.
Side note: There was a wild turkey outside the house where we were staying, and it kept us up all night, gobbling.
Gobble Gobble Gobble.
I'm in a weird mood.

Um, short update.
Lots of drama going on in these parts, with the friends and all. The kind of thing that you can't really talk about because somebody or another is going to go apeshit.
But I have to go to work now, and I'm not even dressed yet. Phooey.

I am having an awful, awful day.
My doctor's appointment, which I had told them to make for 11:30, was instead made for 1:30, during my favorite class (letterpress printing). I got in there late because their new electronic check in system didn't register me so they had to take all my information twice. There was a huge line for the lab, a huge line for the pharmacy, I didn't even get my prescription because it would have taken a long time to wait for it (have to go back tomorrow), and to top it all off the scheduling office LOST ALL MY PAPERWORK to schedule rooms for the show, so I had to SIT THERE for 45 minutes while they tried to schedule me in places. I turned in that paper over 3 weeks ago. I have been coming in to the office to check on it every week. I emailed the head of scheduling 4 weeks ago about venues, and she hadn't even looked at it. That is the problem with it - there is only one woman doing all the scheduling for all the student organizations. So anyway, needless to say we didn't get our first choice ANYTHING. I nearly started crying when she told me she didn't have any of my paperwork. I came this close.
As it was, I burst into tears in the hallway in front of my letterpress TA, who led me over to coffee hour and had me eat some cheese-its and calm down before going back to talk to the teacher. I ended up being 3 hours late to my 4 hour class. Thank God for
the1andonlycj - he scheduled me for the last possible print session so I can have plenty of time to work on my project, which I am nowhere near finishing even though I stayed super late after my Monday lab. Some people are printing as soon as tomorrow morning.
Anyway, I came home after class to 7 missed calls (did I mention I forgot my phone this morning because I was trying to finish a homework assignment for said letterpress class and got all frazzled?), one of which was from one of my good friends who has been in an ongoing fight with another of my good friends, her roommate. Both of them are in the show, and both of us are completely drained and on the verge of tears, but at least I don't have to work tonight (she does).
Oh. And the final straw is that my doctor's appointment was a gynecologist appointment, so I've been feeling gross all day.
Also my dog jumped on my stomach and knocked the wind out of me. But that's just the icing on the cake, my friend.
I'm eating rasberries and trying to calm down a little before I take my bath. My head is pouding. So if you can't get ahold of me tonight or if you talk to me and I sound sullen, you'll know why.
